Children's Specialized Hospital — Autism Program
Offered by Children's Specialized Hospital (RWJBarnabas Health)
New Jersey Children’s Specialized Hospital Autism Center of Excellence offering evaluations, therapies, ABA-linked services, early supports, and family resources through RWJBarnabas Health.

Children’s Specialized Hospital (CSH), part of RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey, operates an Autism Center of Excellence focused on services, training, advocacy, and research for autistic children, adolescents, and their families.

According to CSH’s current autism pages, families may access a range of diagnostic and treatment-related services. These include developmental and medical specialty pathways, psychology services, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, feeding and nutrition therapies, social skills groups, early intervention supports for eligible young children, free Quick Peek developmental screenings for ages 1–5 (screening only; not a diagnosis), Children’s Specialized ABA, and a specialized Severe Behavior Program through CSH–RUCARES for children and adolescents with significant safety-risk behaviors who cannot be safely treated in less intensive settings.

CSH emphasizes early identification and individualized supports. Exact clinical pathways depend on the child’s needs, location, and intake process. Families should use the hospital’s autism appointment request route and confirm which services are available for their child.

This listing summarizes publicly posted hospital program information. It is not medical advice and does not diagnose any child. Discuss concerns and next steps with a qualified clinician and confirm current CSH intake requirements, insurance participation, and wait times directly with the hospital.

Eligibility

Early Intervention is described for children from birth to age 3 with developmental delays in two or more listed areas and does not require a formal autism diagnosis.
