ErinoakKids — Entry to School (ETS)

Offered by ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development

Free Ontario Autism Program school-transition support for invited children ages 3–6 starting Kindergarten or Grade 1 for the first time.

Entry to School is a free Ontario Autism Program service delivered by ErinoakKids with Dufferin Child and Family Services and Woodview for families in Peel, Halton and Dufferin. It starts with a six-month group-based program focused on communication, play, social interaction, functional routines, behavioural self-management, and pre-academic learning and attention. Children then receive individual transition support as they enter school, and families and educators can access consultation during the first six months at school. Cohort dates and formats vary; ErinoakKids currently lists full-day and half-day options for its September 2026 intake.

Eligibility

The child must be registered in the Ontario Autism Program, have received an Entry to School invitation, be age 3–6 as of December 31 in the year they start school, and be starting Kindergarten or Grade 1 for the first time. Children who have already started school are not eligible; Ontario also excludes children receiving OAP core clinical services at the same time.

How to apply

An OAP invitation is required. Register with the provider named in the invitation. If the invitation names ErinoakKids, call 905-855-2690 or 1-877-374-6625 and select option 1, or email intake@erinoakkids.ca. Confirm the current cohort and site before planning attendance.
