OHSU Doernbecher — Pediatric Autism Evaluation (CDRC)
Offered by Oregon Health & Science University
OHSU CDRC evaluates children and teens for autism in Portland and Eugene, then connects families to services when appropriate.
OHSU’s Child Development and Rehabilitation Center evaluates children and teens for autism in Portland and Eugene. The autism team provides evaluation and referral onward; it is not a crisis center and does not itself provide treatment. A child’s doctor must refer them to CDRC. OHSU then registers the child and sends an intake packet; the family must return the completed packet and requested school or developmental records before joining the waitlist. As of August 6, 2026, OHSU publishes waits of 6–21 months depending on age and location. Families should confirm current timing directly. Portland questions: 503-346-0640. Eugene questions: 541-346-3575. Evaluation cost varies by visit and specialists; families should confirm network coverage and authorization with their insurer. Interpreter support is available on request.
Eligibility
Children and teens through age 17 who need a first autism evaluation. A prior autism diagnosis is not required. OHSU says it does not provide second opinions or re-evaluations through this clinic.
How to apply
Ask the child’s doctor to refer to OHSU CDRC. OHSU registers the child and sends an intake packet. Complete and return the packet with requested school/developmental records; the child joins the waitlist only after the referral, registration and packet are complete.
