Frederick County 4H Therapeutic Riding Program is a nonprofit equine therapy center established in 1984 serving Frederick County, Maryland residents of any age with mental, physical, and/or emotional disabilities. The program offers group horseback riding sessions (7 weeks in spring and fall, plus summer classes) and private therapeutic lessons designed to improve physical function (muscle tone, balance, posture), build self-confidence, and enhance emotional well-being. Individualized lesson plans are developed collaboratively by riding instructors, program therapists, and family members.
