Stim (Stimming / Self-stimulatory behaviour)
What it means
Repetitive movement, sound, speech, or interaction with objects that may support regulation, sensory input, communication, focus, or expression. Stimming is not unique to autism. Support should prioritize safety and the person's needs rather than suppressing harmless behaviour for appearance alone.
