What it means
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a developmental condition involving persistent patterns of inattention and/or hyperactivity and impulsivity that affect daily functioning. Examples may include difficulty sustaining attention, organizing tasks, remaining still when expected, or waiting a turn. Clinicians consider whether symptoms are frequent, occur in more than one setting, began during development, and interfere with life; occasional distraction or high activity alone is not ADHD. Presentation and support needs vary, and assessment should be completed by a qualified professional.
