ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
What it means
The current DSM-5-TR diagnostic term for a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by persistent differences in social communication and interaction, together with restricted or repetitive patterns of behaviour, interests, or activities. A qualified clinician must consider developmental history and observation; no single test diagnoses autism.
