PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance)
What it means
A descriptive term used for a pattern of marked, often anxiety-linked avoidance of everyday demands. It is not a standalone diagnosis in DSM-5-TR or ICD-11, and terminology, assessment, evidence, and clinical practice vary. Support should be individualized rather than inferred from the label alone.
